Sports Therapy
Sports Therapist is an aspect of a health professional who has the knowledge, skills and ability to:

plan appropriate rehabilitation and return to training/work programmes
Sports therapists will see patients with a range of health conditions and injuries, this is not limited to just sports injuries. They have the ability to see a whole variety of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. Common conditions that our sports therapists encounter in the clinic include:
Sprains and strains
Injuries to muscles, ligaments and tendons
Repetitive injuries (such and tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow)
Traumatic injuries
Postural problems
Muscle imbalances
Joint pain and stiffness
Musculoskeletal and sports injury causes significant lost time from sport, work, and normal daily life activities. The correct rehabilitation enables effective, accelerated recovery from injury.
Whether you are an active individual, weekend warrior or a professional athlete we can provide the right rehabilitation plans for you. If you have sustained an injury or experience recurring injuries we provide the highest standards of rehabilitation for all injuries.
Here at Centrepoint Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation we use a range of treatments and assessments alongside the latest research to meet our clients needs with the aim to get them back healthy in the most effective way minimising the risk of future re injury.
Your rehabilitation process starts with an initial consultation, which will enable us to gather the relevant information on you and your injury. We will then look into more specific movements and observation assessments to help diagnose the injury. This then enables us to create an effective, specific rehabilitation plan. If required, we can then include specific hands on treatment such as massage, joint mobilisations and acupuncture. Clients will receive their own specific rehabilitation plan, which will include strengthening exercises, mobility work, and a plan for return to sport or a specific goal.
Are you training for a specific event or sport?
Strength and conditioning training is the process of attempting to increase physical fitness through a specific program. The usual features of the programme may include weightlifting, gradual exposure to increase cardiovascular fitness and injury prevention specific exercises. The training is most often used by athletes improving athletic performance, however it can also be customised for every person in the genral population to promote general fitness. Having a something specifically designed for you based on your ability, will help you increase strength and fitness without excess harm.
